Zeytinlik & Karmi villages Wedding Photographer
The hill villages above Kyrenia: narrow stone lanes, tiled roofs, olive and citrus trees. Karmi sits higher up, with the view opening toward the mountains.
These are living villages, not venues — and that is exactly their value. Wall texture, a narrow lane, a vine canopy, a doorway: backdrops nobody staged.
Light
The coast faces north: sea to the north, the Beşparmak ridge to the south. Midday sun comes from straight overhead and it is hard — a white dress blows out, eyes fall into shadow. The useful window is the last ninety minutes before sunset. The season moves the sun too: in summer it sets west-north-west into the sea, in winter west-south-west over land. Seven in the evening in June and in November are not the same photograph.
The narrow lanes cut the midday sun, so there is workable shade even in the hard hours. The higher you go toward Karmi, the wider the horizon and the later the last light holds.
Practical
The lanes are narrow and steep. I do not plan long walks in a dress and heels — a few short stops work better. A car cannot reach every corner.
Practical notes
- Light
- The narrow lanes cut the midday sun, so there is shade even in the hard hours. Higher up toward Karmi the horizon opens and the last light holds longer.
- Getting there
- Hill villages just above Kyrenia; lanes are narrow and steep and a car cannot reach every corner.
