Korineum Wedding Photographer
A coastal resort at Esentepe, about 20 km east of Kyrenia: the Beşparmak ridge behind it, the sea in front, and the north of the island's first 18-hole golf course in between. Wide green, a mountain silhouette and water in one place is a rare combination here.
If you are looking at Korineum, the first thing worth knowing photographically is which way the place faces. It sits on the north coast of Cyprus: sea to the north, the Beşparmak ridge to the south, the resort on the strip between them.
How the light behaves
Midday sun here comes from straight overhead and it is hard: a white dress blows out easily and eyes fall into shadow. If the ceremony is outdoors at that hour, shade is not optional. The useful window is the last ninety minutes before sunset — the light arrives from the side, faces soften, and the sea and the ridge hold colour behind you.
The season moves the sun, and this is the part most couples do not plan for. In summer it sets west-north-west, straight into the sea. In winter it shifts west-south-west, over land. Seven in the evening in June and seven in the evening in November are not the same photograph — in November it is already dark. Outdoors or indoors
The resort has landscaped gardens, its own beach club and indoor function rooms, so the ceremony can go either way. Wind is a real factor on this coast: what it does to the veil, the hair and the table settings is a conversation for before the hair and make-up call, not after.
