Lake Como, Italy Wedding Photographer
A lake at the foot of the Alps in northern Italy: villas running down to the water, terraced gardens and slopes rising on every side.
What defines Como photographically is that it is vertical. In Cyprus the horizon is a flat line; here the background climbs — water, villa, trees and mountain stack on top of each other. Even a tight frame has depth.
Light and timing — how it differs from Cyprus
The mountains shorten the day. The sun goes behind the ridges well before it reaches the horizon, so golden hour ends noticeably earlier than the sunset time in the calendar. Here the timeline is built around the moment the sun clears the slope, not around the clock. Mornings often bring haze over the lake, which is a gain — the light softens by itself.
Practical
Getting between locations is usually by boat or along a narrow lakeside road, and any two points take longer than the map suggests. For weddings abroad, travel and accommodation are a separate line — send me the date and we talk about the total figure up front.
