Bafra coastline Wedding Photographer
The stretch of coast east of İskele: long sandy beaches, low dunes and an open horizon with the big resorts set back behind it.
What this coast offers is emptiness. No crowded architecture, a plain background: sand, water and sky. A plain backdrop pushes the figures forward, which makes it a strong choice for couple portraits.
Light
This is the island's east coast, which inverts what you know from the Kyrenia side: the sun rises out of the sea. The hour for light on the water is early morning. By late afternoon the sun has moved behind the land — the sea flattens, but frames facing inland pick up a warm backlight. On this coast the ceremony time decides the photographs more than anything else.
The price of that openness is a complete lack of shade. At midday there is nowhere to hide on the sand; spending those hours inside and coming out when the light softens works far better.
Practical
Sand and wind arrive together. What the dress and the veil will do in it is a conversation for before the hair and make-up call.
Practical notes
- Light
- East coast: light on the water in the morning. There is no shade on the sand, so midday is better spent indoors.
- Getting there
- East of İskele, along the Bafra tourism-zone shore.
